Bibliotheca Dantesca, Vol. 5

This fifth volume of Bibliotheca Dantesca expands the scope of Dante studies through a rich constellation of essays, thematic clusters, and critical reviews that collectively map both established and emerging directions in the field. The articles range across philology, reception history, translation, and textual transmission, while also foregrounding innovative methodological approaches that situate Dante within broader transnational, material, and intellectual networks. A dedicated section on DANTE AND DH highlights how computational tools, digital archives, mapping projects, and data-driven analysis are reshaping the ways scholars edit, visualize, and interpret Dante’s works and their traditions, opening new pathways for collaboration and access. Complementing this, the new NEW DANTE WORLDS section turns outward to consider global receptions, contemporary reimaginings, and interdisciplinary crossings that attest to Dante’s continuing vitality across cultures and media. We hope that you will enjoy a volume that is at once historically grounded and forward-looking, documenting the evolving landscapes—material, digital, and global—through which Dante’s texts continue to be studied, transformed, and re-encountered.

The abstracts for the thematic sections on DANTE AND DH (Notes and Projects) were prepared by the editors of Bibliotheca Dantesca (b.d.).
