The florin.ms Project
Julia Bolton Holloway
The florin.ms project is an open-access digital humanities initiative dedicated to the preservation, editing, and dissemination of manuscripts related to Dante Alighieri and Brunetto Latini. Grounded in diplomatic textual practices, the project reproduces manuscript layouts through facsimiles, transcriptions, and parallel texts while integrating multimedia elements such as audio recordings, musical performances, visual art, and hypertext. Its platforms—including digital editions, the Dantevivo archive, and the “Dante’s Florence in Hypertext” app—seek to reconstruct the historical, cultural, and sensory environments of Dante’s works for scholars, students, and the wider public.
