We don't know what Aristotle looked like, but that hasn't stopped artists from depicting his portrait across many media and with a range of emphases.
Often, but not always, Aristotle is shown with a full beard. Often, but not always, he is holding a book or a pen. Often, but not always, he is together with his most famous student, Alexander the Great. His clothes and hat (or lack thereof) change depending on the artist and the perception they had of Greek culture. Sometimes the image is helpfully labeled so that Aristotle's identity is clear. At other times, it seems as if any man could be "The Philosopher."
