Submission Guidelines
Siren! welcomes submissions that are bold, creative, and intellectually engaging. We are looking for work that sparks conversations, challenges dominant narratives, and connects with global audiences invested in feminist, media, and cultural activism.
We encourage contributions that reflect the themes of each issue, engaging with pressing social issues, cultural movements, and acts of resistance. Submissions can take many forms—written, visual, or multimedia—and should align with the magazine’s commitment to transnational solidarity, feminist world-making, and transformative social change.
What you can submit
- Papers: Analytical essays (between 3000–5000 words, excluding references) that address the theme of the current issue.
- Commentaries: Opinion pieces (between 500–1000 words) that address current global issues, social justice movements, or media representation with a feminist lens.
- Visual & Multimedia Works: Video essays, podcasts, artwork, photo essays, or other creative formats that experiment with storytelling and activism.
- Event Spotlights: Reviews or reflections on protests, media campaigns, or cultural events from local and global perspectives.
- Hybrid Submissions: Unconventional formats that blend text, visuals, and multimedia to present critical ideas in accessible, experimental ways.
We welcome submissions at all stages of development and value contributions from public-facing scholars, activists, artists, journalists, and other changemakers.
